Tips for Losing Pregnancy Weight

Posted by admin

It’s a normal process of gaining weight while pregnant.  Just how much weight you gain cannot be calculated.  Your doctor may recommend how much weight you should gain, but your cravings tend to take over.  The baby says, “I want a raw potato dipped in sugar.”  Normally you don’t eat like that, but the baby wants what it wants.

After you’ve given birth, you begin your quest to lose your pregnancy weight.  If you’re thinking of just fruits and vegetables, don’t.  You are still eating for two, remember.  Whatever goes in to your body comes out through the breast milk so you have to eat healthy.  Here are a few ways to help you lose your pregnancy weight safely and as quickly as possible.

Lose Pregnancy Weight

Exercise

Of course you knew that exercising would be on the list.  I’m not talking hours a day because the new baby will provide the endurance aspect of your life.  When you were pregnant, the doctor probably told you to take it easy.  You now have to up your activity level in order to lose your pregnancy weight.  Exercise will also increase your energy level so that you can keep up with the new love of your life.

Choose a program that fits in to your schedule but make sure it tones your muscles and increases the heart rate.  Lifting weights, and that can be things around the house, and maybe dancing.  Wait a while before doing the stomach exercises, as I’m sure you know.  The cardio activities will reduce the fat all over the body so no rush on the stomach.  It will happen.  All of this can be accomplished while staying at home with your baby. While she’s in her swing chair, do some deep-knee bends.  Grab a couple of canned vegetables and lift them over your head.

Yoga is great for the mind and body.  You’ll be much more flexible and feel much less stressed.

Set Some Goals

You need to set some goals.  When you meet your short-term goals, it will encourage you to meet your long-term goals.  {A short-term goal would be losing X pounds each week, lifting the bag of sugar over your head four more times this week than last week, dancing through four 3-minutes songs instead of three like you did last week}.

Don’t compare yourself to the other women who lose weight at a different rate than you, stay motivated by your own short term goals.  Everybody’s body is different.  Don’t put yourself through that needlessly.  You just had a beautiful baby, nothing can stop you.  Drop Pregnancy Pounds

Changing How You Eat

You no longer have those weird food cravings.  You now have to start eating the right foods for you and your baby.  The first thing you need to do is to buy better groceries.  When you feel like a snack, head for a piece of fruit.  Eat smaller meals but more often throughout the day.  You’ll have energy for your new bundle of joy and the other things life throws at you.  Good luck and congrats on the new baby.
