Fun Ways to Exercise That You Haven’t Considered.

Do you find yourself thinking of some excuse to get out of going to the gym without feeling guilty?  Let’s be honest it’s usually the last thing you want to do after a day at work. You may feel rotten about it, but it’s really quite natural. Anyway there’s always other people there, it’s stinky so what’s so attractive about it?

Begin a great program today in the privacy of your own home.

The people in there just look so good in their gym wear, a bevy of beautiful bodies it really can be off-putting and can make you want to head for the nearest junk food outlet for a piece of chocolate cake.

Does this sound familar?  Well it could be a good opportunity to give the gym a break for a bit and do something that will be fun. If you think laterally you will find that your body will follow quite naturally and that’s the key. The exercises that are the greatest are the ones you don’t realize you are doing. You will stay with exercises that you love doing, now they may not be as calorie burning as say riding the stationary bike at the gym, but you won’t quit after a couple of months meaning you’ll win.

Here are four fun ways to exercise to get you underway.

Martial Arts. It’s worth thinking about.

No doubt you think martial arts is how you see it in the movies a bunch of guys making loud noises and kicking a lot.  In reality it’s very different. There are lots of people who practice martial arts from all ages and with many different body types and backgrounds.

One of the best things about martial arts is that you can choose from a big range of different options and pick the best one that suits you. Although there are many different styles three of the most popular ones are: The Olympic sport of Judo the focal point being throwing and wrestling; Karate, more a kicking and punching art; and Kickboxing which is the most physical using hands and feet fighting.

Now for the second one. surprise it’s Yoga.

Although yoga doesn’t burn up the calories like more physical exercising does, it is a great way to help the body’s awareness which means increased weight loss in your daily life. The variety of people from small to large, fit to unfit and from young to old can be found in a Yoga class. There are so many different people found in the activity of yoga. There is another choice to Yoga which is Tai Chi. This is like yoga and is for different ages, for different shapes and everyone benefits.

We’re up to number three and we have Dancing.

There’s a bigger difference in fitness between professional ballet dancers and professional swimmers - the ballet dancers are the fittest. Both endurance and strength can be increased from the brilliant exercise of dancing. Best of all it’s an exercise that’s fun as well as being stimulating. To get started you could ask a friend to go with you especially if you’re a bit nervous . Try jazz, hip-hop or latin as the faster dances are normally the better for weight loss. If going to a dancing class doesn’t do it for you, then put on a fast cd, turn up the stereo at home. The other option is that you could use an spare room in the house, put on your i-pod and dance away in private.

Now we’re at number four Table Tennis.

The undersized bats, the little white balls and the ‘pock-whoosh-pock’ of a great rally, I mean, what’s not to love about table tennis?   It’s delightful and burns as many calories as a brisk walk. I’m going to ask you - would you rather to do half an hour on the rowing machine at the gym, or great, fun game of table tennis with a friend?  Dinner can be made by the one who doesn’t win!   A table will probably see a lot more use than the latest ab-blaster from the Home Shopping channel and they’re not expensive to buy.
